Chibisuke from the anime/manga series, Dragon Drive by Ken-Ichi Sakura; fursuit built by =TaoKyuubimon , with help from ~TayaSekino and ~witch12849 .He's mostly finished! I have to fix some stuff like the ankles (you can see in the flop picture) and figure out how to get the wings to actually stand up. :/
Other thing to fix is getting claws onto some sort of glove so I can have some dexterity, and reglue the middle claws on each foot because they came loose from the foam, and wiggle when I take a step.
He is made from 2 inch pile ivory fur from DF, with buckram eyes and Sculpy claws. Body shaping was done with upholstery foam, and the wings were made from some tubes from two packages of glowsticks and wire (idk what size) and some fleece for the yellow. Feetpaws have pawpads made of the bottom part of a pair of yellow flip flops. Features a moving jaw with Sculpy teeth on the top jaw and the bottom jaw lined with felt. Tail is four feet long, and stuffed with polyfill from a large stuffed animal I gutted.
This is my first suit made from fur, and I think it turned out pretty well for a first try! The digitigrade didn't end up too badly, but the padding slips so I might dart it some more to tighten the fabric. The moving jaw works pretty well with the fur, but you have to pry it open to get a water bottle in. It moves pretty darned well, just not wide enough mouth. XD

Basically the forearm is a rolled section of foam and then I put a piece of foam to "cap" it at the end and then glued the claws in to to some holes there.
However, I actually updated the claws. so that the gaps that I glued the old clay claws are still there, but made sort of "gloves" for my fingers that I stick in there as seen in this photo: scontent-ord.xx.fbcdn.net/hphoβ¦
this makes them actually dextrous so you can use your fingers. I might be able to pull up more photos sometime if you note me.

Ahhhh unfortunately I probably won't bring him back out unless I fix him up a decent amount to make him easier to wear. Sorry. ;_;

He looks perfect. Just like the show. Except, you could shave his fur down an inch. Fluffy is good but too fluffy makes him looks unrealistic. He isn't that fluffy in the show.

Yeah, at the time of creating this costume I didn't own any kind of equipment to shave fur, so I hesitantly trimmed him with scissors so that I didn't screw anything up permanently. XD
If I end up fixing up the suit to be more easily wearable I will likely shave the head and redo some things, but for now he's just sitting around in my work room.

Thank you! There are three Chibi suits that I know of in existence at the current moment by me, ~Starfighter-Suicune , and by *Tatta-Kasame .
I'd love to see a suit of Kanpa or Gorao, myself. XD

hi we are an upcoming cosplay group and i was wondering did you get many people recognise you because i wanted to make a gijinka version of chibi and wondered if popularity matters in cosplay? that is all!

Hmmm, as a fursuit I had overall... 7-10 people (not including friends that I was meeting up with) recognize Chibisuke. This was A-Kon, which is the oldest anime convention that has been going on and had I think 18k attendees. So it wasn't that many.
If you're going for popularity and recognition of the character, I would not go for a gijinka version unless it's VERY obviously Chibisuke. Not many people have seen Dragon Drive, I don't think. However, if it's cute enough, a lot of people at anime cons are huge cute fanatics. As always, popularity does not matter in cosplay. If it matters to you, then go by it, but if you're just cosplaying to have fun, have at it at any character you'd like. ^^

I usually do rough sketches of concepts and how the heads will line up against my face, but after that it's mostly quick concept art and then going for it.

I wear glasses as well. I helps if when you are foaming around where the glasses are, if you try on the head and hold up the foam to see if your glasses fit well.

Just be careful to have good airflow in the head because glasses can fog up easily from your breath.

Ah, well... there was a lot of in-room work on him. We finished 10 minutes before we had to be in the hall cosplay room.
I'm going to fix him up a bit and take him to A-Kon next year, since I probably won't have time to make another full fursuit for awhile.

Hmm... five foot six inches... I'm like five foot two so... hm.
I haven't done a full-body duct tape dummy, but to tape the legs for the digitigrade I finished off three colored duct tape rolls (which have less on them) that had maybe 20-30% left, and then started on another roll and got halfway through. :/
I'd just go to Wal-Mart and check prices for some normal duct tape rolls and get 4-7 rolls depending on how much is on each roll.

I was tempted to go to home Depot and get the tape that person was talking about with the 3 foot tape or something....I'm not sure. But at Walmart it's 3 dollars a roll.
And peacha colored....pink. Plus, how to make them healthy instead of loaded with sugar, lol.

Jello. Add cream and food dye to edit the color. I did it before for a brain for Halloween. i got the perfect shade of pink flesh and I found out that the jello starts to melt when left at room temperature for a while so I had a perfect fleshy brain with dark red blood pools here and there while the jello 'sweats'.
