Civilization Bonus

 Ships regenerate health (0.8 HP/second).
Stable units move 10% faster and do double damage to heroes.
 Cavalry improvements 20% cheaper.

Wonder: Baths of Caracalla

Following the fall of the city of Troy, one ship filled with Trojans, with Aeneas among them, managed to escape the attack of the Greeks. Neptune was resentful towards the wandering Trojans, but was currently holding a grudge towards Juno who entered his domain without his permission. So to annoy her, he actually thwarted Juno's attempt to sink their ship.
Neptune was the son of Saturn and Ops, brother of Jupiter and Pluto, and his realm was the sea. He was also the patron of horse racing and would ride the waves in a chariot pulled by two horses. A temple dedicated to him was built near the Circus Flaminius, which was a racetrack. Neptune is said to have created a handful of living things, not only the horse which was made from the Earth and a blow of his trident, but also a bull during a contest with Vulcan and Minerva. The bull was said to represent the fury of the sea, which is fitting since Neptune could create violent storms and earthquakes.

**

Neptune is primarily an offensive major god and his benefits are well suited for cavalry raids. The aqueduct improvement allows units to be trained faster, thus creating an army faster. Also, cavalry units can be improved at a cheaper price and stable units move faster, meaning you can create small but strong armies quickly to attack enemy villagers. To top things off, killing enemy villagers grants you a chance to summon slaves to your Town Center that can in turn boost your economy.
Rushing to the heroic age can be accomplished at a faster speed for Neptune players, thanks to the three free civilians provided by the Birth god power (in addition to potential slaves). Having three more villager units for free is a great boost to your economy. Another benefit from choosing Neptune is the regenerating ability of fishing ships that allows them to survive attacks better. This bonus is also available to arrow, ramming and siege ships, once again boosting your offensive strength on naval maps.
