He tends to take things too seriously and despite his achievements, has a pretty low opinion of himself not that this is obvious. History Born without a name, his story began as a tragedy in the darkest corner of Solraja's docks. His mother sold him before the suns could welcome him into the world. The woman did not so much as look at the child before giving him to a vile man who deemed himself a ringmaster of sorts. The man dealt in the business of 'entertainment' and trained children he acquired to become fighters. And at the age of seven, he entered the ring.

For five years he kept himself alive. At this point, he had given up trying to run away. Scars from his attempts often reminded him of the consequences for thinking freedom possible. Hopeless and beaten, he decided to let the fight take him. Why continue? His victories meant nothing but to fatten the purse of the man who shackled him. What was the point in living if this was to be his future?

Death did not claim him during the bout, although the ringmaster sought to complete the task after the lost. He was weaving in and out of consciousness when a ruckus broke out. Shouts and thundering footsteps filled his aching head before he passed out. It would later come to his knowledge that the guards had surrounded and seized those involved in the fight circles.

The faint fragrance of flowers stirred him awake and the first thing he saw was a child with the stormiest of blue eyes. Prompted by the child, a nurse proceeded to inform him he was at an infirmary and had been unconscious for three days. Further inquires told him the child was the one who had brought him there and insisted they 'make him all better'. But why? Kindness such as this did not exist. He kept quiet as the child, Camellia, constantly came to visit. She talked about everything and nothing at all. She brought him treats and weird objects and occasionally tried to because she was still learning how to read him stories. One day, he finally worked up the courage to ask why. Her response was a simple, "Because the General says the bad men taked away your happy."

He grew more and more attached to the child as days turned into months. Having told Camellia he might never find his 'happy' even though he had his freedom, the child insisted she would make sure his future would contain nothing but happiness. It was then she named him Hani and declared it their promise. Discharged into Camellia's care, it was then Hani learned of the child's identity. And it was then he swore he would protect her innocence.

Hani, despite having fought his whole life, felt himself too weak to stay by Camellia's side as he was. After being adopted into the household of a just, but barren noble family, he joined the ranks of the training soldiers. Tenacious as his will was, it didn't take long for him to move up the ranks. At the age of eighteen, he'd become the youngest Commander. It was also then he experienced his first jump to Lunesia. Needless to say, he was bewildered. No longer one to panic, he assessed his situation and went from there. When he met the Land, he could care less about their plight and only accepted their request due to the stability the gems would bring. Hani used this as an opportunity to learn the martial arts of Lunesia. The stronger he could get, the better he would be able to protect Camellia. Of course, it was hard trying to split his time between the two kingdoms. The meetings in which he saw Camellia shortened, yet with each, his motivation renewed.

Sadly, the older he grew, the more conscious he became of the gap between him and Camellia. By the time he realized he'd fallen in love with the princess, it was already too late to stop. Six more years would go by before he became the High General. When Camellia grew into marriageable age, Solraja's sovereign asked if he would be interested. The old man was an astute ruler and knew of Hani's feelings, so it came as a surprise when the young man refused. How could he accept? To him, Camellia was brighter than the two suns of Solraja. She was too good for the likes of him.

Because he viewed himself as unfit to stand by her side, he chose to become her shield instead.
