This one was one of the best pictures I ever got from him. Until few days ago he never liked to keep his eyes open. This was one of the rare ones where they weren't totally closed.

Thank you so much. This is one of the better picture of him as he usually tries to avoid looking good in pictures. The flash is not something he likes so he always closes his eyes.

I think there are rather a lot of cat's like that. On the other hand my other cat loves to be photographed. It is like he would be posing for the camera sometimes.

I know...I thought I was seeing things for the first time. The more pictures I took I started to notice more and more. It was really like he was simply posing for the camera. He doesn't do it all the time but surprising often. Occasionally he doesn't like it and goes away.

It's an really interesting name. Standly...I would have never though of a name like that. My cats are Reaper and Scythe, Reaper is the short haired one and also in this picture. We were trying to figure out two names that would fit with each other as we were getting two cats instead of just one like we originally planned out.

Not always...but very very often. It's surprisingly hard to catch it on camera though when they seem to be soooo relaxed. The camera usually gives them enough interest so that they start moving around, nyaa.

There are times when closed eyes work better but not always. The best of all is to get both at the same time! One eye closed and the other one open, don't you agree?
An old habit of mines. It's basically what cats say in Japan. I just started liking it so I end up using it every once in a while in my(not so official) texts, nyaa!

Mm, you mean in Japanese cartoons?
My cat usually says 'meeah'... ^^

Tapola In reply to ShamefulTears [2010-05-13 18:57:22 +0000 UTC]
No, in written language. Most languages have their own unique way of writing what animals say. In Japan "nyaa" is what the cat says, in Finland it's "miau" etc.

I can read some Japanese, nyaa. But yes, as it's should be mainly humans doing the voices in japanese animations so it would make sense that they use "nyaa" like sound as a human can't really make the correct sound, can they?
Finnish uses the same alphabet with few extra letters.

(sigh.) Well, you didn't really have to worry about it. I'm not one to adopt a trademark, especially not one to steal someone else's, if I want one I think my literary work proves I'm darned well original enough to come up with my own, and I would've used it almost only with you anyway. I'm still sorry I bugged you. (sigh.)

Tapola In reply to ShamefulTears [2010-05-13 19:39:42 +0000 UTC]
I wasn't really expected you to steal it either. Doesn't fit your writing style at all.
It's not like it can really be my trademark simply because it is actually a Japanese word nothing more nothing less.
You didn't bug me...*giggles* I was just playing around like all good kitties do, nyaa.

But but...I stop filing them sharp! I had enough after that one blood incident in the train...all I'll say about that it wasn't my blood on my nails.

Tapola In reply to ShamefulTears [2010-05-13 19:49:03 +0000 UTC]
*giggles* I don't really know what happened either. It was in Japan, not even at a rush hour but there were still rather a lot of people for most people's taste, and I was leave the train. After I had left the train I felt something wet on my hand...someones blood. Whose blood it was, I had no idea. My nails probably hit someones skin when I was leaving the train or something. It was pretty freaky. It did make me file my nails little less sharp, nyaa.

Neither have I...and I definitely wouldn't believe it if it wouldn't have happened to me. Anyway that was the last day of my little claws...now I have to be satisfied with little less sharp ones but they're still pretty sharp and practical. You would think so...but I heard nothing it could also be the Japanese honor the made the person not shout out loud or something.
Thank you...I've been doing my best for English, nyaa. Out of the language I speak Japanese is my worst one. Mainly because I use it the least. My mother tongue is Finnish, which you probably already guessed. I also speak German fluently.

ShamefulTears In reply to Tapola [2010-05-13 19:56:14 +0000 UTC]
Yes, I guessed that, and it makes sense that you would also speak German. How similar do you consider German and Finnish to be? To me they look more similar to one another than either of them is to English...
👍: 0 ⏩: 1
Tapola In reply to ShamefulTears [2010-05-13 19:59:12 +0000 UTC]
*giggles* They're pretty far from each other. English and German are much closer to each other than Finnish and German. English and German they even belong to the same language group, which basically means once you've learned one of them you'll have much easier time learning the other languages in the same langauge group. Finnish is rather a unique language in Europe and belongs to the same language group as Hungarian.
So why does it make sense to you that I speak German?

Tapola In reply to ShamefulTears [2010-05-13 20:13:13 +0000 UTC]
*giggles even more* It's not really all the unexpected as those aren't close by to where you live. It's nothing commonly thought in school either so I wouldn't really worry about that all that much. There are so many language in the world that it's impossible to know how they all connect to each other as often there are huge differences between two or more languages.
I speak fluent Germany simply because I lived in Germany for nine years. More than enough time to learn the language of the country fluently. *giggles* As for English I just use it way more than my mother tongue(even at home) so it's not really all that surprising that it's at a nice level, nyaa.

Tapola In reply to ShamefulTears [2010-05-14 05:08:57 +0000 UTC]
Interesting...most people don't think like that because of all the long words we have. *giggles* As in Finnish we like to combine words to create a new one so the length of the word becomes longer.
But yes...it would be sad to have those smaller local languages to die. They might be small but they're unique. They are something that belongs to their culture but if it dies it's never going to be the same. Sadly there are pretty many languages that are very close to dying out.

Tapola In reply to ShamefulTears [2010-05-14 05:40:06 +0000 UTC]
Probably because English is a pretty easy langauge in the end. We all had to choose one language that could be used internationally and by the time it was that far English was a big langauge in the world. However, in Asia for example it's the international language isn't really English but Japanese. Japanese is used a lot around Asia like English is used around Europe. They do still use English as well but from what I've understood mainly when there are western people around. If it's just between Asians they prefer to stick to Japanese. I was rather surprised about this when I read about it a long time ago. Probably because Japan is such a big name for example in electronics that they basically could dictate how things are going to go or so.
