By wrong reasons I mean that I more or less like to joke about the character more than I actually legitimately like him. I mean, I do like Naraku as a character, but he's so often doing things off-screen that I feel we don't really get to see /enough/ out of him (at least in the first series anime, can't speak for the manga or the second series).Β

i hear you. yeah, plot-wise it makes sense. it would've been nice to see more character development, but well, neither of us are Rumiko Takahashi otherwise that would've prolly been the better option for his character lD. even though his feelings for her were transferred from Onigumo, it could've worked, imo, given it didn't work with her and InuYasha.Β

Also I just think it's lazy writing to have him do so much shit off screen. It's like "oh he found out something" or "oh he got sacred jewel shards" but we don't see HOW he gets them--just that he does. Someone can argue it leaves room to imagination but I say it's just friggin lazy writing.Β
Naraku just needed more development in general. We only really get to see the nasty sides of him and nothing else. If he weren't so handsome I don't think I'd care about him at all. LOL

it is lazy, i know. as a fanfic writer, i partially agree with the whole 'leaves room to imagination' given i wrote two fics of this series, but rationally you're right. it's lazy writing.

Inuyasha's just full of lazy ass writing. So much is unexplained but I still like the series. lol I guess if you're a fanfic writer it leaves a lot of room to fill in gaps but I don't care for fanfiction (either reading or writing it) so I just forever think of it as lazy writing for an author to leave so many blanks in a series as long as this.Β
