I actually really like this. It's subtle, and has a soft beauty with the light vaguely shining behind the leaves. Very nice shot.

I kinda like it, i think the manipulations you did in photoshop has done a quite deal to make this an awesome piece. Without the white pillar this would be super great, for now it's "just" great

Here is the constructive critique you wanted:
I will say that you have a pretty strong composition going on here as you subject helps create this naturally. The concept is solid as well and like the the warmth that it brings. I do think that the contrast could be tweaked a little more so it would make the plant pop out more. It is simplistic but effective. FYI I use the triangle rule which was used by the masters and which in part I judge a pictureβs composition by, as well as contrast, color use and over all creativity. The rule follows that you have 3 parts, figures, objects, or elements that create more or less a right or isometric triangle. It is a little bit like playing connect the dot with an imaginary line and the parts of the picture being the dots, no actual line is drawn. This triangle can be repeated many time over and over again for increasing complex pictures but with a strong composition. Other triangles can be used but cause a weaker composition. Good job keep up the good work.

it almost has a graphic design feel to it with those colors and the silouette. i agree with someone above that it reminds me of a dark cafe

I really like the simplicity of this, and the sence of balance between the lighting, but i feel it is missing something, not anything major just somthing to help create a general focal point because there is nothing really to keep my focus after the initail look of the photo

Doesn't take much light - to cast shadows - and give form to things - we would otherwise take for granted... and sometimes that vision remains when the light goes out.
