Yeah you can read Lady Midnight without having read Tales From The Shadowhunter Academy - it just helps if you have.

You can read it, but it will spoil some small things that happen to the tmi characters after cohf. Lady midnight just mentions how they're doing and what happened after the war, things that happen in shadowhunter acadamy. But if you don't mind knowing then you can just go ahead and read it

You probably could. There may be a a few things that you'll think When did that happen?Β but TFSA focuses on Simon and LM is not. If you're willing to do some searching, you could possibly find the different tales online for free without having to download anything. That's how I read them.Β
