Description
This work took a year and a half from January 2017 to July 2018. I wanted to finish the Calendar by 2019 — the year of the 55th anniversary of its hero. I also celebrated a milestone anniversary that year: exactly 10 years since I’ve seen Uwe Kröger on the stage for the first time, for the first time exchanged a few words with him at the SD and soon after that joined the IUKC (Uwe Kröger International Club).
In the next ten years there have been many wonderful performances, many journeys, discoveries and adventures. Thanks to Uwe, I have visited some places the very existence of which would otherwise remain unknown to me, I have learned a lot about myself. I have received also a lot of ideas and powerful impulses for my own creative work. And the Calendar became for me a certain outcome of these ten years of love and inspiration.
I chose characters that were most significant, in my opinion, in Uwe Kröger’s career, or just meant something to me, at the same time tending to visual diversity. The font has been also drawn by myself, based on the Albrecht Dürer’s fraktur, but with my own modifications.
