This is very gorgeous! D:
Wow.
I come from a small island in Alaska and this makes me miss home so bad XD;
The town I come from is Tlingit and Haida :3

XD
Well, they have yanno, squabbles, but, nothing serious.
Most of them are all related now anyway and someone's related to someone's cousin who is married to so-and-so XD;
So it wouldn't make sense to fight.
The Tlingits do still tend to tease the Haidas and such though XD;;;
Like my best friend's dad always was like "You know why they're called Haidas? 'Cause when the Tlingits came around they were all like "'Hide us! Hide us!'"
*shakes head* XD;

One of my goals is to teach with my work- so the accompanying explanations will always have something important in relation... especially when I do my ethnic work.

Actually, if anything, that stylization is closer to being based of the central American than north west pacific. XD

From the peoples themselves. I am in constant contact and learning with the communtiy.
Also, they prefer to be called "Native American" or by their nation's name. Not "Indian".

Aaah ...
Having grown up in Europe I unfortunately don't have much experience with tribal art and traditions, so the concept that little details like upturned ears are markings of a certain cultural influence has so far been uncharted territory for me. Hence, my ignorance ^__^ , but I love reading these interesting little tidbits you keep adding to your comments anyway.
Here in Europe, mythology has it that dogs are considered fortunate to be allowed to be living with humans. There are several stories about how this cohabitation came to pass, but almost all tales count the domestication of canines as reward :/ - which, considering how many dogs are being treated, may or may not be debatable.
