Description So, this is the Bodovian dragon, which have many nicknames in the bodovian tongue, including 'Sky Walker', 'Long Beard', 'Gold Snake', 'Sky Fish' and 'Messengers of Arr' (Arr is their sun-god). The Bodovian dragons live on the highest plateaus and cliffs of the bodovian outback. They are Gliders, and have only one joint in their wings that can bend, which is at the shoulder. instead of flapping, like birds, they flap just the shoulder joints in succession, like a string of likes flashing down a line in a lopping pattern. this rippling effect allows them to 'walk' to updrafts, and then they prefer to spend long hot hours gliding on the updrafts in the sun, absorbing the heat, since they are cold-blooded creatures.
The most peaceful of the current dragon species, the bodovian dragons are tamed on occassion, the most famous occurrence was of course Nali the Dragon Rider who had a group of personal 'knights' as he called them, and trained them all to tame a dragon of this species and ride it.
This s no light feat, considering the beasts are over 60 feet long from nose to tail and are rather shy when it comes to human contact.
They's slick scales are usually a golden colour with markings of blue or teal. the females have dull golden underwings, whereas the males have brilliantly coloured underwings which they flash and ripple during mating to attract a female. both males and females have a crown of long and fine hair on their tails and faces, and both males and females have six red eyes in their faces. These eyes allow them to see predators from above, but there are few creatures that will try to hunt a bodovian dragon, mostly being a pack of muzino dragons, stag speritanian dragons, large birds of prey and the like.
Bodovian dragons are solitary creatures, ad do not even stay wth their own kind after mating, the male is usually left with a solitary egg which he guards until death if he feels threatened. Although without much protection for fighting, their underbelly is slightly more protected with thin long scaes of a golden metalic like scale, which covers glands that turn to poison when mixed with oxygen, meaning if a slash to the chest of belly of a bodovian dragon happens, the creature attacking it will be sprayed with a highly deadly poison. Their other method of self defense/attack is a gland in the throat that excretes a thick mucous-like slime that renders its prey nearly immobile, and gradually corrodes the skin, clothing, feathers etc that the creatures happens to have. bodovian dragons will not eat the outer casing of their meals, be it flesh or feather, nor will they consume the bones, they strip the muscles into strips with their claws and eat them piece by piece, and are gifted with opposable thumbs. They are highly intelligent and often have the ability to use the mortal ability of Brain Delve.
there are an estimated 8950 living in the current world, 78% of which are male.
