The Locked Door

“The door is locked,” was the general cry
“The door is locked, and we don’t know why!”
The master said, “Pick the lock and swing the door wide.”
“We cannot, for we all have tried!”
“Then you must break it down with a knock.”
“We cannot, for it’s as hard as rock!”
“Undo the hinges, and cast it on the ground.”
“We cannot, for the hinges are iron bound!”
“Slide a child under, to open from the other side.”
”We cannot, for those that attempted have died!”
“Confound it all, is there nothing to be done?”
“Then I ask of you to summon my son.”
In he walked, looking proud and said he,
“I know this door, why I have the key.”
