Something to consider about the moon - its an object in the full sun. To get the craters and details on the moon, you need to shoot for the sunny 16 rule. At f/16, the proper exposure for something in the full sun is 1/ISO. The moon is a bit grayer than the 18% gray used for this, so open up one more stop to f/11 (often called the lunar 11). As it stands, you shot this about 5 stops too slow to get any detail from the moon.
You might consider doing a double exposure to get this right. Shoot one frame at f/11 1/100th of a second for the moon, and another at f/7.5 at 1/2 a second (to get the sunrise). Then combine the images in photoshop (this wouldn't be considered a manipulation, but rather extending the range of the camera).
With respect to the photo itself, it might have been more intresting if the moon wasn't in the center of the frame verticaly, but rather off to one side or the other. Also, while it is not always fesable, something in the foreground may help the image [link] and [link] are two of the photos that I have with a similar moon oritentation.
Otherwise, a well done photograph.

Thank you for your advise, i shot a couple of exposures of this shot, and a few different compositions, but a 100% in camera photo appealed to me more than splicing two images. Checking out your gallery now, some very impressive photography.

You used a border! I'm impressed. I really am. It just brings out the whiteness of the moon so much more vividly.
So simple, and so good. Delicious.
