Just to cheer you up...in the legend of Korra katara says "My brother and MANY of my friends are gone" she didnt say they ALL were.

From what I heard I didn't like Korra that much. But the episode changed my opinion completely. XD
I don't know if Lin's father is Sokka... I doubt it because of Zuko.
But, omg, at the end. The guy with the mask, Amon...that got some smexy voice.. : D

Technology didn't advance any quicker in the Avatar world then it did in our own real world. It's not as if you see the citizens of republic city enjoying their HDTV and writing on their laptops. Look at how much the world changed from 1855-1925.
