These are lovely, but I think they need some sort of back lighting or something to really show off the facets and things, how come he only wants a black bg?? o.0

Because he's stubborn? He wanted the lighting to be exactly the same as he had it set up in his storeroom. Lit from one side only. mirrorstonecrystals.com/produc… that's one of the old photos that I didn't take. Basically I went in and he wants exactly the same as the other people working for him have done... even though I have suggested better ways. *sigh* he wasn;t happy when I changed the setting of the camera to take large pics, since it was set to teeny weeny ones. *shrugs* he didn't like the suggestion of me using my own camera for some photos, since the camera he has for the shop is a Nikon, and mine is a Canon. and the photos would be different wouldnt they? 0_0

but the black background is because he want's the images on his shop to be consistent.. which i get... but a lot of these rocks don't show up well against a black background at all. the light, white ones do, but all the rest don't, and the fossils sure don't.

My face is doing an awful lot of this       (also some of the stuff is on a white background so if hes using that as an excuse its completely lame)

Having said that, of course Nikon cameras take better photos

*runs away cackling*

yeah, it is pretty lame. but there is no telling stubborn people that there's a better way of doing something.

haha. ok. i like the end result of using a Nikon camera. but bloody hell they make it difficult! the user interface is not user friendly at all. "how do i change this setting.?" "oh simply. go left at the pink hippo, turn 185degrees, then head towards the tall pine tree in the forest. follow the pixie trail for 4.3 miles, then hop on your right foot for 5 hops, then your left for 3 hops, yank the gryffin's tail and bob's your uncle!"

but then again, i am pretty le rubbish with the camera. need a trained monkey
