Description

Taking inspiration from the Hammerloke vault with the head of a unknown dragon, I used that as the idea of what the original form of Eternatus is like. Thus this design was born.

The story behind this is that before Eternatus became the poison dragon it is, it was once Psychic Dragon and a space dragon at that. It's been said that if a stream of aurora lights goes by in the night, Eternatus would grant a wish. But one day something terrible happened. The regal dragon was preparing to fly by Galar, when a meteor (Deoxys) hits the dragon. This unfortunately dislodges it heart sending it to the Earth. Without it's heart, Eternatus became unstable and its energy and scales burst from it becoming the wishing stars and pieces while some landed in Galar becoming the raid dens. The core tries to stabilize Eternatus as much as possible but the result was a skeletal dragon beast and worse part is that Eternatus lost it's psychic typing and became poison dragon. In pain, Eternatus heads to Earth to find it's heart but it's presence in Galar caused the darkest day. In order to keep Eternatus alive until it's heart was found, the core absorb energy from Galar and that's what caused the darkest day.

As for the heart itself, the gem landed in Xulen and it was founded by it's king 4 days after the defeat of Brutalius/Iragon. The king took the heart and it became a treasure.

Now in Monochrome and Rainbow, you briefly encounter the heart in the military base/hideout of Team Chrome being researched and experimented on. You take the heart and that becomes a key item in your bag and would seem to have no importance. Until the 1st post game mission.

The 1st post game mission is known as Eterntal Gratitude.

In the mission, there have been sightings of Eternatus in the Xulen Region. This causes fear as the population feared the darkest day returning. The champion of the Galar region league released Eternatus as its pain been getting worse so they released it for it to find it's heart. When the professor of the region learns of the crystal you have, they theorize that the crystal is Eternatus' heart. So the professor tasks you with returning the heart to Eternatus before it absorbs too much energy and Eternamaxes again. You follow the trail of wishing pieces to a cave where the pokemon is hiding but the cave is surrounded by angry villagers from the nearby village called Whisma Village. The villagers and their pokemon wanted to destroy Eternatus. It's clear that every forgotten about it's original form so you step in to help the pokemon. The villagers, despite you being champion, try to pull ya back but you go closer to Eternatus. The pokemon comes out sensing it's heart in your possession. It lets out a pained cry showing that it's misunderstood. It's not rampaging, it's in pain. A terrible pain.

You pull out the Wishing Heart and it floats to Eternatus taking in the core and in a beautiful pillar of aurora lights, Eternatus transforms from it's undead looking form to its real form. At last the wishing dragon returns. The villagers, now realizing their mistake, apologizes to Eternatus who accepts. The pokemon returns to the sky to grant the wishes that build in the form of unique wishing stars, The Wishing Comets. Once that's done, Eternatus would challenge you to a battle so you can catch it. It wants to show the world it's real power and not the dangerous power of it's unstable form.

Eternatus (Origin Form)

The Wishing Dragon Pokemon

Monochrome: Prior to it's heart being dislodged, Eternatus had the power to grant wishes of people via Wishing Comets. Now that it's heart return, it can resume it's duty as the wishing dragon.

Rainbow: The poison dragon pokemon that is Eternatus has been reunited with it's heart. Now pure once more, Eternatus can atone for the darkest day incidents where it's core absorbed too much energy and nearly caused the destruction of the Galar Region.

Signature moves:

  • Dynamax Cannon
Like in it's other form, Eternatus Origin form can use Dynamax Cannon but it's heart charges up the blast and Eternatus fires it from it's mouth at the pokemon. Double damage if the pokemon is Dynamaxed or Raged up.
  • Wishing Meteor   (Replaces Eternabeam when the item is handed to Eternatus)

Eternatus uses it's own wishing power to make a wish. That wish takes the form of a meteor which flies down at the opponent and hits them head on. The effects of meteor range from a stat being lower to a stasis condition like confusion, paralysis, frozen, burn etc.

Eternatus and pokemon belongs to Game Freak and Nintendo
Origin form and Wishing Heart belongs to me
