Another of my TTNG characters. Unlike the other characters, Dane does not actually have parents who were children of Titans or villains, but he is of the same generation as the others and goes to the same school as them.

Dane is half-tameranean and half-human, with a human mother. Dane's father was travelling between planets when he crash landed on earth. There were others travelling with him but he was the only survivor. Dane's mother, a trainee doctor, was visiting her parents in the country when the ship crashed nearby. She found Dane's father injured in the wreckage and nursed him back to health. After a while Dane's father decided that he should go back to Tameran and report what happened, he left without saying goodbye, expecting to return soon, but never did. He did not know that Dane's mother was pregnant when he left.

Growing up, Dane was quite an abusive child. He fought against his mother at ever opportunity and got angry when he didn't get his way. Dane only inherited his father's strength, but was happy to use it whenever he was angry. He turned his strength on his mother on multiple occasions throughout his childhood and would take his anger out on her. When Dane was 14, Starfire found out about him and his mother's situation. She felt obliged to help when she found out about Dane's father's disappearance. Starfire helped Dane to get into TA where he attends as a boarding student. Dane now regrets his treatment of his mother, he refuses to see her when she tries to visit because he feels he can't forgive himself for what he's done.
