I do break the devices down to components but but most of them are defect to begin with.

I only show the insides of things that are designed to become broken (or obsolete)

Yes, I think that plays into the concept of that video/discussion, though Mike didn't go into physical components of old technology so much. This, I guess, is more of a re-purposing than highlighting glitches or malfunctions, but it still speaks to me of the transience of technology.
