Description
This was fun I love these two even if I don't win *Amadalia 's contest I will use these guys myself don't know what yet but I will I had to do something a little more unique and well twins was the first thing that came up in my mind
the scars on them are mostly from the hollow attack depicted in the mini story below but the one vertical one on Kazuki's face is from a battle that I have no details for lol anyway I need to draw them again a better front shot mainly cuz Aoi's shirt is a bit different and definitely Hiroki (see story below i feel bad for killing him )

Kazuki and Aoi Miyahara

Zanpakuto:
These twins have a strange zanpakuto, it is difficult for them to use it if they are separated as found out when Kazuki originally was becoming a shinigami on his own and could barely use it. It wasn't until an incident in which he was trying to protect Aoi was when they found out that they shared it both of them then moving on to become shinigami.
shikai:
Stand, Yuiitsuken (lone swordsman)
The twins can materialize different types blades that look the same at will and as many as they wish
physical- standard katana no special effects
sensory- energy blades in the form of a katana that don't cause wounds but more attacks the nerves causing pain
absorption- energy blades in the form of a katana that can absorb a certain amount of an opponent's reiatsu or attacks if enough of it they can release the opponent's attack at them
banaki:
Satsugai bun'ya no Yuiitsuken (killing field of the lone swordsman)
A seemingly endless amount of katana appear standing in the ground of which only the twins can even draw. These all appear as the physical but to the twins will and without changing appearance they can be any of the other types as well. Also in this state with the absorption ability the Katana can often take the form of the opponent's weapon if absorbed enough but one the energy is expended they can no longer use it unless they absorb more.
Personality:
Aoi is a very curious person always moving from one place to the next she also exhibits an upbeat and carefree personality. She tends to be strong-willed, stubborn, and outspoken all to the annoyance of her twin.
Kazuki is more of a mature and calm individual but is often more friendly towards others. Despite how much Aoi can annoy him he will do anything for his sister.
Mini Backstory:
Sometimes I just wish the past was all a bad dream. Now days it is but it really did happen. All stories start best at the beginning. Back when My sister and I were just Aoi and Kazuki, just wandering twins in the Rukongai. When we came to this place we were in a worse part of the Rukongai. I was worried for Aoi but she was as carefree as ever. We set out for a better area to settle in. Aoi has a;ways been careless for as long as I could remember and her curiosity always got her running off. I didn't mind it as much as we got farther and farther from where we were at least until...
"Aoi? Where did you run off to now?" I called. "Aoi I'm serious this isn't very funny. Come out already!" Normally she would come back almost right away when I said that or at least respond. "Aoi...?" What could of happened to her? "Aoi!" I yelled.
I heard a fearful scream that filled me with fear as well as panic. "AOI!" I yelled running toward the edge of the town where I heard it.
What I saw horrified me at the time. Aoi was on the ground her kimono shredded and in a pool of her own blood. I fell to my knees at this horrid sight.
"K-Kazuki..." Aoi voiced to me as I tried moving closer. "R-run!"
"Wh-what?! I can't--" I heard a fierce howl I looked up to see what I only remember as a white mask, glowing eyes, and claws. I felt a hot pain across my face and all I saw was red. I put my hand to my face and felt the hot stickiness of blood. I wanted to scream because of the pain but nothing came out.
"K-Ka-zuki!" I heard Aoi. "Ka-zu-ki...!" I could hear her fading away from me. I wanted to say something but I couldn't even move. I was frozen. I felt that we were both going to actually die and my body filled with numbing fear.
I heard a howl again but I also heard fast approaching footsteps and the sound of a sword. I soon felt the negative presence of that monster vanish. Did this person defeat it?
"They are both still alive!" I heard a man say. "I need to get you two somewhere safe! can either of you two hear me?" He asked carefully picking us up. I knew he was moving somewhere fast I felt the wind against all the blood I was covered in."If you can I'm Miyahara Hiroki. I'm a shinigami." I had heard rumors of Shinigami being mean and cold hearted. But his voice and even his presence melted away my fear.
"Kazuki," I was able to say.
"Kazuki? Is this your sister?"
I nodded, "Aoi.." I felt my consciousness fading.
"Stay with me Kazuki-kun," He said. "I'm going to save you two!"
Everything after that was a blur. I remember waking up in a nicer looking place I felt bandages on most of my face.
"Ah, Good you are awake," The same voice from before, Hiroki. I now had a face to go with the name. His face held a kind smile shown in even his green eyes and his hair was a dull blonde. "Aoi-san hasn't woken up yet."
I looked over and saw her still sleeping, "Is she alright?"
"She'll be fine," Hiroki said with a smile. I'm guessing I had a sad look on my face when he asked me, "Are you alright Kazuki-kun?"
I glanced at him for a moment but then looked over at Aoi. "She's my sister... I was supposed to protect her." I could feel tears. "I couldn't do anything!"
"I was in a similar position as you once Kazuki-kun," Hiroki said I looked over at him again. "That's why I became a shinigami myself."
"A shinigami?" I heard Aoi stir. Looking over I saw her sit up. "Aoi! You're awake!"
She was rubbing her eyes, "Zuki-nii I had such a weird and kinda bad dream..." She looked at me and noticed the bandages her face changing to surprise. "...It wasn't... a dream?!"
I shook my head but Hiroki spoke, "Unfortunately no but you two are safe now."
"Who are you?" she asked curiously.
"Oh! So sorry you were pretty much already out of it when I saved you. I'm Miyahara Hiroki, a shinigami of the ninth division." Kazuki said with that kind smile of his.
I saw Aoi's face light up, "Oh? I never met a shinigami before!" Aoi always gets happy when she meets or sees something new. She's always so curious but this time I was too. After what he said, if I could become a shinigami too I could protect Aoi!
Aoi and I had remained for a while in what we found out was a small manor in the first district. Apparently Miyahara was a low ranked noble clan. I started smiling more than I used to. Knowing that Aoi was safe and Hiroki could make anyone smile really.
"Aoi-chan, Kazuki-kun!" Hiroki called to us.
"Hiroki! You're back!" Aoi said cheerfully running up to him. She put her hands on her hips, "You're late you know!"
"Actualy I came back at the same time as always I just was talking with some of my family," Hiroki said.
"Really? What about? Tell us!" Aoi prodded.
"Aoi, don't pester him so much! He doesn't have to tell us everything," I said walking to them.
"But I wanna know!" Aoi complained.
"It's alright Kazuki, I don't mind," Hiroki said. "It was actually about you two."
"Us?" I inquired.
Hiroki nodded, "With your permission we would like to adopt you two into our family."
"Wha-!? Really?" Aoi said excitement in her voice.
"Are you serious?" I asked surprised.
"Yes," Hiroki nodded. "Everyone here loves having you two around. I can be like your older brother."
Aoi glompped Hiroki, "Oh, How awesome! Come on Zuki-nii! We have to say yes!"
I smiled. I can't say no it's been wonderful here. "Of course."
"Yay!" Aoi cheered.
Hiroki laughed lightly, "How wonderful! Welcome to the Miyahara family you two!"
Things had just gotten better and better. I began attending the Shinigami Academy. Aoi generally wandered around the district to satisfy her curiosity. Some how she found a ferret and convinced us all to let her keep it. It was quite attached to her. She had named it Mi. Everyday after all my classes were done Aoi and Mi were waiting for me at the gate.
"Aoi I'm surprised you haven't wanted to join the academy yet," I said. I would have thought her to be bugging me to let her.
"It seems fun but I don't think you'll even let me," Aoi said.
"Yeah but knowing you, would you even listen?"
"Uhm... Good point," Aoi said. She looked down a pathway and she grabbed my wrist dragging me down it.
"Aoi?! Home is that way!" I said pointing back the way we were traveling.
"I know!" Aoi said I heard excitement in her voice. "I want to show you something!"
"We are going to be late for dinner!" I said with slight complaint.
"Stop your whining!" Aoi said. "You and dinner..."
"Yeah what about it?"
"You're always hungry!"
"So are you," I stated. "More so than I!"
"...So!" Aoi said.
"Where are you taking me?"
"I told you! I want to show you something!"
"Real specific!"
"Oh hush! We are almost there!"
Somehow we ended up on a cliff area but all around was a flower bed as gorgeous as the view. "Wow!" Was all I could say.
"I Know!" Aoi squeaked. "When I found this place I thought it absolutely amazing! I come here a lot but I never get tired of it!"
We didn't leave until we realized the sun had nearly set. We ran home but what was waiting for us was the worst sight to see.
"Hey... Zuki?" Aoi slowed to a stop.
"What Aoi?"
"Shouldn't the lights be turned on? It's almost dark..." Aoi was right things weren't right here.
"Stay here a moment!" I said knowing it's likely she wouldn't listen. I went and opened the door. I saw a trail of blood. I quickly ran inside and looked around. I found nothing but violent death and blood. "No! This can't be!" I heard Aoi scream fearing the murderer was still in the place I quickly ran to her. It wasn't the case, she was on her knees in shock and crying. Her hands over her mouth her eyes were locked on Hiroki... He to was dead. "No...!" I whispered falling to my knees as well.
"H-Hiroki...?" Aoi said hoping he would answer. I did to. "Hiroki!" Aoi screamed. The second time I cried in this place was only then, I hadn't even realized it. Aoi grabbed onto my academy uniform, barley able to even sit up anymore. "Kazuki...? Who could of done this? They did nothing wrong!" It was silent other than her sobs. I didn't know what to say. I didn't know what to do. "Kazuki... Please. I don't want anyone to feel like this... so please! let me become a shinigami with you! For Hiroki...! ...For me!"
I hated seeing Aoi like this. That evening, amidst the true Miyahara blood, I vowed never again to let her be reduced to such a state and to honor this family and carry on their name even if it were just our own. "...Of course...!"
