Why the "Hate Speach Monitoring Port"? It nicely fits in the obedient cattle society. It doesn't invade the privacy (Yes, recording of every vocalized thought doesn't invade it in the same way as a machine scanning of every internet activity doesn't. There is no privacy violation unless a human is getting involved) and helps to fight the terrible crime of .... saying "I find it repulsive".

The hate crime like this committed by Jerzy Urban ( a well know intelligent communists running a "NIE" newspaper today) who said: "Homosexuals... Intellectually I don't have anything against. I like when people do what they like to do. But personally, if I would be happen to have an intercourse with a male... it's repulsive."

In today society the minorities (and as a chastity fetishists I'm also a minority) are requesting not a tolerance but full love and appreciation. Something like the US affirmation policy.

Yup, this just hit a good 1984-level of dystopia.

Of course, this device leaves the option of whether what it's saying is an accurate reflection of what the wearer intended to be saying (or if they intended to be saying anything at all...) to be slightly murky.

(Without anything else but the listed, then the wearer could signal otherwise, of course.  But the devices could be slightly modified to punish that.)

No, no, no! Nothing bad like this can ever happen, this is all for greater good of citizens. Government is like a mummy and all kinds knows that "mummy knows better".  Good people have nothing to be afraid of.

Except of bad people.

I tried to write it as a satire to show the extend to which may lead an unlimited trust in institutions and procedures which do trade freedom for safety. And how pointless it is to believe, that such procedures can in fact protect anything. I suppose that in a correctly brain-washed society people will gladly agree to have "improper speech" filters enabled and will welcome a punishment feature as a, for an example, an educational aid for teenagers. Or something like that.

This is a  satire with a kinky twist of course.

If You are seriously interested in safety, terrorism protection and etc I do recommend to visit librivox.org and download an audio reading of US congress commission report about 9-11 attacks. Interesting lecture.

I love all the political satire in this comic.  Fantastic art and story. I've looked through this comic several times and keep coming back.

This comic is a fun way to look at extremes of giving up freedoms for safety in this strangely sexual way

I like the idea of the port and voice synthesizer but I don't like people talking loudly on planes lol.

The stewardesses / flight attendant should have a remote control to turn off someones speech synthesizer!

The stewardesses / flight attendant could even turn off all passengers speech synthesizers while they give the safety briefing in the front of the plane, forcing everyone to listen and obey.
