It's not the sort of gritty urban scene that usually draws my attention, but the coldness implied by the fence is so hard to ignore that it mitigates the absence of grittiness. It would make a great poster/conversation piece.

I found someone who is interested in purchasing it as a print for their house. Stoked about that. My nude and glamour work gets me a lot of attention so the other things I am interested in shooting sometimes get ignored. I will be super proud of an image and it will get 12 faves and then I'll post a damn cell phone pic of my girlfriend's butt and it will get thousands and thousands of hits and 800 faves and stuff and I get depressed LOL

You can't get depressed about that. You know all too well the nuances of human nature. Take the positive response for what it's worth.

A very interesting idea; usually in shot like this the focus would be something beyond the fence. The angle is eye-catching as well. Kudos on this bit of expressive photography!

I was shooting a model downtown the day that I shot this and people would stare at us as if they didn't understand what we were doing. Or like we were somehow interfering with their meaningless journey from the office to the coffee shop and then back to the office. The only people we ran into who seemed to actually be doing something were an older couple who were also walking around taking photos of buildings. Yet, when I tried to ask about the type of camera he was using he looked at me with fear. Like I was gonna rob him. I thought, "These people are prisoners. They've built their own walls and here we are in their prison yard." I keep thinking about these people I know, or kinda know, who constantly interact with me online or via text. And they seem to think they are so involved with the world but they aren't, they are involved with their phone or their computer. It's not a genuine human interaction and they seem hurt when I do not have any interest in responding. But it isn't enough to be alive, I want to live.

not to sound really lame...but you just blew my mind. I've had experiences like that in my hometown whenever i went around the city with my friends and filmed our interactions.
