Did you come across anything paranormal there?

Actually I have been there like three times now and never encountered anything supernatural. Me and Magic Alex had to have gas delivered to us though. LOL It's in the middle of nowhere.

Sounds like a real pain in the ass to shoot out there.

Have you ever shot in places where you did experience anything paranormal or just flat out weird?

I wanted ghostly images so I left the aperture open for 23 seconds and had the girls jump out after Β 13 seconds. Which made them transparent HOWEVER I took the image and my camera and lens to a local shop to try and figure out what the orb is. Basically it wasn't a bug or dust more because it stayed in the image for the 23 seconds . And they found nothing in my lens or on the sensor. Whatever it is, it was there when I took the pic.

from what I've read most of the times orbs can be simple energy manifestations or they can be intelligent spirit energy but either way they're the most common thing you can capture paranormal wise especially in a cemetery. Still it's impressive you managed to get one on film. Β

Well unfortunately, based on what I know about photography and photography equipment, most of the so-called orbs people capture are nothing more than dust motes and bugs. The problem being most ghost hunters are amateur photogs and break one of the first cardinal rules of digital cameras: NEVER USE THE BUILT IN FLASH. I was in one of Phoenix's haunted hotels in the basement with other people and we kicked up dust like crazy. Everything was coated in dust. I used my professional camera with an external flash unit and another girl used a "point and shoot" with built in flash. Her images are littered with light reflecting off dust motes creating an orb effect. Mine are clear and sharp. The images I shot of the run-down organ don't show any dust motes.

Now the pics I just posted have dust in them but the dust actually got kick dup and on my lens. I kept trying to keep it clean but there was soooo much cut it was next to impossible. But I figured fuck it, that's what happens when you go between the walls LOL

That's sort of why I never get excited about orbs in photos. Too many things can be mistaken for them. Video you can at least tell if something is an insect, dust or whatever because you can see how it moves.Β

I imagine it has to be a pain in the ass to maintain the camera in any place like that. I have a crappy digital camera with an automatic cover on it and the friggin lense still gets dusty.

Oh yeah, dust is a pain in the ass to work around. Shooting in abandoned places is cool but it nasty and dirty too. Anything for a cool photo though LOL
