Description Evan had always loved the beach. He loved the sound of the waves, the smell of the salt, the feel of the sand. He loved to watch the sun set over the horizon, painting the sky with brilliant colors. He loved to collect shells and stones, and make sculptures out of them. He loved to swim and surf, and feel the water on his skin.

But most of all, he loved Ariel. Ariel was a mermaid, and the most beautiful creature he had ever seen. She had long, blonde hair that was the color of gold, and eyes that sparkled like diamonds. She had a slender body, and a tail that shimmered with scales. She had a sweet voice, and a kind heart. She was his best friend, and his girlfriend.

They had met by chance, one day when he was swimming in the ocean. He had seen her tail, and followed her out of curiosity. She had seen him, and smiled. They had talked, and laughed, and felt a connection. They had exchanged names, and stories, and secrets. They had fallen in love.

They had been dating for a year, and they were happy. They met every day at the beach, and spent hours together. They shared their dreams, and their fears, and their hopes. They learned from each other, and taught each other. They kissed, and cuddled, and held hands.

Today was their anniversary, and Evan wanted to do something special. He had prepared a picnic for them, with food from both of their worlds. He had brought sandwiches, and fruits, and cookies for himself, and seaweed, and clams, and oysters for Ariel. He had also brought a bottle of champagne, and two glasses. He had packed everything in a basket, and brought a blanket, and some candles. He had arrived at the beach early, and set everything up. He had waited for Ariel, with excitement and anticipation.

He saw her emerge from the water, and his heart skipped a beat. She smiled at him, and he smiled back. She swam to the shore, and he ran to meet her. He helped her out of the water, kissed her softly, and whispered in her ear.

"Happy anniversary, my love. I have a surprise for you."

He led her to the picnic spot, and showed her what he had done. She gasped, and clapped her hands. She hugged him, and thanked him. She told him he was the best boyfriend ever. He blushed, and told her she was the best girlfriend ever. They sat down on the blanket, and opened the basket. They ate, and drank, and toasted to their love. They enjoyed the delicacies from both of their worlds, and savored every bite. They looked into each other's eyes, and felt their hearts beat as one.
