In one of the kof xiii cutscenes, Saiki and Mukai appeared on the stadium and when mukai offered to fight the winners, saiki killed him due to his failure back in 2003 and absorbed his powers, though he doesn't use them in battle.

sad but true, i didn't play with mukai much, but he did look like a pretty cool character, had some pretty good mannerisms.

Yeah, the only downside was that he was a boss character... and unlike most companies, SNK doesn't bother balancing the playable versions of boss characters... making them cheap, broken and banned...

Lol, at first I thought that's Geese (and the art's title kinda reminded me of how he sometimes returns as Nightmare Geese).

And sadly, though Mukai does show up in KOF XIII, it's only a cameo, and he gets killed by Saiki...

yeah he was K9999's replacement, I wonder if we could have both of them in there, that would be epic

sadly we will probabaly never see k9999 ever again since the people who made Akira got pissed at snk, but that actually would be interesting to see, maybe i a picture.

It wasn't like that, K'9999 was designed by the guys from Eolith (who assisted SNK back then), and the SNK guys said they hated the design for being too similar to Tetsuo (yeah, like we haven't already got Polnareff from Jojo's Bizarre Adventure or Athena from Saint Seiya already in the series...), and that's why he was left out of 2002UM.

c'mon the creators of Akira never said a thing, seriously there are other homage characters such as Jann Lee, Marshall and Forest Law who are homages to bruce lee; there Lei Wulong whose a homage to Jackie chan, and the lesser known 'Xion the unborn' whose is a homage to Pegasus from yugioh.

never got to play with, he looked like he had k9999 moves, not sure if all the moves were that way but he did look cool to me

Chipp-Zanuff In reply to taurence [2010-05-25 08:04:00 +0000 UTC]

he was cool, but most of his moves were ripoffs of K9999, the Drill Arm was a copy of K9999 flesh arm attack

snk has actually done this before in kof mi2 with Seth getting some of Heavy D's moves, and there are others as well.

taurence In reply to Chipp-Zanuff [2010-06-02 05:02:28 +0000 UTC]

oh yes especially with some characters that you don't see anymore for one reason or another snk will give there moves to another character to give them more moves for there move set.
