History:

It'd been years since the name "Vice" had crossed her, but when Tabby looked up past the brim of her coffee cup to the glaring cell phone screen shoved unceromoniously in her face, her mind instantly flashed to the stunning red dun stallion she'd had the pleasure of working with back in the US.

"Is that a Vice foal? I thought Thunder was the only ASH out of him..." her voice fell as she reached out and took her supervisor's cell into her hand. "....15.2 hands, five years old, she's a Glory baby?"

"The stable's going out of business. I already showed Neaghe, but she wants to pass." With a shrug, Cavan reached out and snatched his phone back. "I know you worked with Vice, so I thought you might want to see the ad."

"Well, yeah... but, I mean, I just made the offer on Casey-"

"Admiral."

"Casey. Anyway. I can't afford her," Tabby shook her head, taking another sip of her coffee. "I appreciate it though."

"She would make a good eventer."

"I'm sure she would."

"Especially in the hands of someone who has experience around both her sire and dam."

"Still can't afford her."

"Eh, you seem resourceful. I'll forward you the ad."

Several Days Later....

Tabby phoning Hugo:

Hugo: "Hey babe, so what's this favor you said you needed to ask me?"
Tabby: "Well. I need a loan."
Hugo: "A loan?"
Tabby: "My citizenship hasn't kicked in yet and I've moved too much recently for the bank to make an exception."
Hugo: "Right... so what's this loan for?"

Hugo: "You just bought a horse."
Tabby: "I know, but hear me out. It's a Miami Vice filly."
Hugo: "Timber Ridge's Miami Vice? What, you trading in cross country for cattle cutting?"
Tabby: "Very funny. And no. I want to use her as an eventer."

Tabby: "What? Vice was a phenomenal stallion and Glory is no less exceptional. If you didn't see the potential in him, you never would have let Davan put him to Thalara."
Hugo: "Davan wanted a western horse, and he agreed to geld him. He wasn't bred to be a cross country horse."
Tabby: "Yeah, but he's in Cal's hands now and he's showing promise as an eventer."
Hugo: "Ughhh, Tabby, baby, I love you... So I'm going to say yes. But Jesus fucking Christ, you're asking a lot of me."
