Here's the final boss from it, in an 8-bit form fit for the original Metroid.
This took over two hours to make! This is a very detailed design indeed, and there were plenty of challenges. Definitely worth it though, I really like how it came out. Started off as a simple sprite edit of that Ridley I did , but the only recognisable thing from it is the general shape of the head.

Depicted characters are owned solely by Nintendo, I merely take credit for making the sprite.
