Description This is a new Acrylic painting I finished today (5th Oct 09).

It is part of a new series I'm working on for a 2010 calendar entitled "Distinguishing Features". I have chosen 12 weird and wonderful birds from all around the World to paint. A few of them, like this Cassowary, look more like they belong in a Star Wars movie than on this planet!

The Cassowary is native to Australia.

Only 11 more to paint, should keep me out of trouble for the next 3 months!

The painting is 8x10 inches, and Acrylics on Watercolour paper. It is for sale. Please send a note to me if you're interested.

No more birds for a while now I'm afraid. I'm preparing to paint some more human portraits in the new year. Thanks for commenting. Check back in the New Year to see my new work!
