Gift Art for the lovely and super talented for giving me points and allowing me to reach my 1,000 point target!As he's doing the Broadway version of Scar as his cosplay for London Expo in May, he requested I draw him.
It did start off as a sketch, then just sorta got bigger and ended up as a watercolour painting
Prismacolor and Watercolour on Strathmore Bristol board 400 series.
I'll be giving this to him when I see him at Midlands Expo this weekend.
Man, I haven't drawn Scar since I was like 11. This was so much fun! Thank you Kelsey, for allowing me the opportunity to draw him again!

NICE! I always liked Scar in the movie because of how menacing he was. I always loved his sly grin and his silly Hyena cohorts. That movie actually taught me a lot about animals when I was younger because I never heard of a Hyena, Warthog or Merrkat until I saw that movie. It is weird that Disney will teach you sometimes!
Anyways, I LOVE how you drew his eyes and mouth in that signature sly smile. His eyes almost look like they have some eyeshadow on them. I like it! Really good job on the mane and coloring. I like the different browns and the neutral toned background.

Possibly my favorite disney villain of all time! Excellent work on the picture, you've captured his intelligent smugness very well! Love the colors too, very earthy like africa, where he's from.

Thank you! Yeah, I didn't want to make him look too orange, as I think that would have looked a bit weird as I was trying to give him my own flair and realistic touches!

Wowie, this looks so alive, there's so much personalit in the drawing. The pose and expression are fittingly smug, and the watercolour effect is just hopelessly gorgeous all over.
