I will also ship them forever. They are my OTP.
I love this idea, and I'm so glad that I'm not the only one who ships them. They're so adorable together

Cool work Yeah I always think myself that Qui-Gon was LIKE A FATHER to Anakin & he would've been the BETTER MASTER for him too! He would've been more understanding about him like his potential, his worries about his mother, his feeling for Padme & perhaps then he would NOT have been tempted by Palpatine so easily as he did!

I am glad that I am not the only one who ships Qui-Gon and Shmi, I also like to pretend that Qui-Gon really is Anakin's father instead of that whole Shmi magically being pregnant with Anakin. In the novelization of Phantom Menace Qui-Gon admits that he had been to Tatoonie before the events of Phantom Menace. Also it may have been done on accident, Qui-Gon and Shmi seem to act like they met before while Qui-Gon was on Tatoonie with Padmé and Jar Jar. I know that this theory is very unlikely to be canon, I just like the idea of Anakin being Qui-Gon's son because they have a very good father/son sort of relationship.

In-universe, the reason why they think Anakin's creation is suspicious results from his exceedingly high Force potential, surpassing even Yoda. In this headcanon, you could do the twist that Shmi is actually Plagueis'/the Force's creation. It'd be a twist on the Virgin Mary metaphor, as according to Catholic Doctrine she's what the immaculate conception refers to; the conception of Mary free of Original Sin. Applying it here, Shmi Skywalker is the artificial life-form engineered by Plagueis, who exists to harbor the ultimate Force-sensitive. Anakin would truly be a product of both the light and dark side; his father a Jedi, and his mother a creation of the Sith. In the new canon, we don't know what species Plagueis is, so his lifespan is a mystery. Also since all we know about when he died is that it's while Sidious had Maul, the timing could all still work.
Also, Qui-Gon being Anakin's father is an ironic play on the Vader reveal. For Luke, his father was actually a supervillain and it was a disturbing revelation that haunts him to this day. For Anakin, there's something heartwarming that his father was a great man, and tragic in that Qui-Gon's own son turns to the dark side. Also fun in that all the time looking for the Chosen One, and it's his kid. Another thing to note is that Jedi can have casual relationships and sex, just not intimate marriages like Anakin and Padme. And even then, they've been know to look the other corner. It wouldn't be surprising if the maverick Qui-Gon had some long-lost child. The funny thing is that Anakin and Qui-Gon due share the whole maverick, anti-authoritarian attitude
The fact is we still don't know how Shmi became a slave, so it'd be interesting to find out in a book her past. She is the matriarch of the entire saga. Right now, this is what I'm getting at Anakin's family:
* Maternal grandfather: Darth Plagueis(non-biological)
* Father: Qui-Gonn Jinn(biological), Cliegg Lars(step-relative), Ruwee Nabierre(in-law)
* Mother: Shmi Skywalker(biological)
* Brother: Owen Lars(step-relative)
* Sister: Sola Nabierre(in-law)
* Wife: Padme Amidala(originally Padme Nabierre)
* Son: Luke Skywalker, Han Solo(in-law)
* Daughter: Leia Organa
* Neices: Ryoo and Pooja Nabierre(through his wife)
* Grandson: Ben Solo(through Leia)
