Nice tutorial, it will be useful for people who want to learn to draw or people who want to try new styles.

This also still good for people that want to draw anthros that normally grow humans. XD

This actually might help! I tend to draw very big ears, though, so my characters end up looking like Dumbo. Any help on that would be great. Thanks! <3

Wow, this is so cool. I already draw both humans and animals; but I've always thought of them as two completely different processes. You draw an animal head one way and a human head another way (in an anime-ish style in my case). I've never thought of how they compare to each other or how the underlying structures are similar just like moved around. Thanks for showing me this new angle and inspiring me to look into this more ^_^

Please cover construction (such as Andrew Loomis's method) in one of the later tutorials! It's the only way to get a strong foundation. "Just shift around the anatomy" doesn't account for not placing the features quite right, which is forgivable in a dog head, but the human brain is really good at noticing it even in stylized human heads. For example, some of your pictures have the nose ending too low (which doesn't leave enough room for the mouth - unlike dogs & cats, humans have relatively tall chins), or give the humans a bit of a short snout. I've noticed these traits are really common in artists who are comfortable with stylized animals and haven't yet become comfortable enough with humans to not draw upon their canine-feline knowledge when drawing them. Construction fixes those issues, even if you're not going for a realistic style.

I'm a bit conflicted with this tutorial, I think the idea is really nice but because the art for it is very stylized to begin with. It means the tutorial itself is lacking in terms of accuracy and anatomy.
For instance, the example of the noses seems useful if specifically your own art style (Which I do like!) was what the person drawing animals was going for in their attempts to draw humans. But in almost any other case the examples you give for variation is inaccurate to life, enough so that it might actually cause confusion.
A good example of this is in your side view of Lucy. Without the skin tone, I could confuse the character's facial structure for an ape or a bear. If you wanted to do something realistic, or something in a style more influenced by Japan this would be hard to follow or totally non applicable. Unfortunately when it comes to learning about how to draw people, ideally the best way to go through it is through references, I don't have issue with referencing other styles but having a good array of actual anatomy and those styles are more beneficial. That's still if that's what you're going for but if I wanted to learn how to draw a horse, or a dog there are structural and unique consistencies specific to those mammals that would make it difficult.
It gets even more complicated when the reference for animals you've used so far aren't realistic either and are in fact made to look more like people instead of the other way around, the big eyes and express face are things we do to humanize animals. (Take old Disney movies as examples) We have to toonify them more to make them expressive. Referencing or drawing actual realistic animals would make this even harder to follow.
That isn't to say this is a bad tutorial but because it comes from one stylized version of a mammal to a totally different species of a mammal both more toony. (Bigger eyes), (Thicker lineart), (Expressive shapes for noses) It might cause a lot of mistakes. I'm sure your tutorials will continue to improve as I do see that the introduction is a little bit more technical. Thank you for reading.

Yeah, that's why I put "*the TawnySoup way" in the title, haha. I know it's not always gonna be accurate ;o; But I still wanted to make it anyway, just to show the thought process.
I feel like most of all what I want this tutorial series to accomplish is being a stepping stone for animal artists who don't know where to begin with human art at all - it's not meant to be the final answer, but an approachable way of understanding how someone else might do it, whilst encouraging them to also do their own research. I may try to include more IRL reference and dislaimers in this series though, you're the second person who's brought it up xD

It may seem hard to believe that some people legitimately can't draw humans. But that's what happens when you start off drawing animals, and spend a lot of time doing it.
One only needs practice. And over time, your art will surely have more variety.

Yeah, it's weird how learning one can sometimes block out the other ;;o;; While I used to be very proficient at drawing animals, my human artwork was just disastrous. So long as you break past that wall of inertia and start practicing, things start getting better
