So much noise.... So much screaming and crying.... What was happening...? Why was this happening...? Ne sat in the rubble of an old elementary school, hiding... They were everywhere... walking, crawling, moaning ghoulishly... People; men, women and children alike, ran. Ne couldn't move or barely breath in fear that They would hear her and eat her alive... Close by, three-no, four of them were huddled together, tearing the flesh from the body of a small child. Ne could no longer tell if the child was a girl or boy, it was only a pile of meat now. One of them rose, bits of skin and blood hanging from it's rotting mouth. Ne choked back a sob, covering her own mouth. Slowly, almost like it knew she was there, turned to her hiding place. Tears flown from her (e/c) eyes, blurring her vision. She could smell it, the closer it came it's stench became stronger. Closer and closer it walked, nearly on top of her, when a shot rang out, followed by several others. The undead looked to the north, the source of the noise. One by one, they shuffled away, the last one being the corpse right in front of Ne. When they were no longer visible to the naked eye, she crawled from her hiding spot, grabbing a small boulder as she went. She carefully walked up to the once-living child, keeping an eye on her surroundings. As Ne became close enough to be bitten if the child were to rise again, she threw the boulder onto the child's' head, destroying the skull and all of it's features at once. Running as fast as her legs could carry her, she fled in the opposite direction of the undead, hoping that she wouldn't see another on her way.
