The boy came stomping over. At first he had this really heated look on his face, but it quickly turned to sorrow.

"Daddy!" He waved his arms in the air. "Don't listen to her! She's trying to make life hard on us again!"

I most definitely was not trying to make life harder on them! It was the complete opposite of that.

"I don't wanna' go back to working in the freezing cold..."

Liam shared his sons pain. Just the look on his face told me he wasn't happy to continue fighting against the cold of the North Pole.

All this made me wonder why they even set up a town here in the first place. It's so far out of the way from civilization, and in the coldest part of the planet. Maybe there was more to this settlement then I thought?

I don't know. Maybe I should have done a little more research on this place before coming. whether I like it or not, this was my job. slacking off would only complicate things, especially if I needed to bargain.

Hmm...that makes me wonder if I could encounter this demon lord myself. No doubt that would make a lot of things more clear.

Usually, demons plant a lot of seeds in plans early on. So say that a city wants to expand its territory. Well, if a demon gets involved, unbeknownst to the public, that area might get created for something shady, regardless of the original intention.

"Would you allow me to meet with this so called, god?" I asked, giving them both a serious look. "I think I can ‘negotiate’ a better ultimatum for you."

Of course, I planned on negotiating with my spear the whole time.
