Ages in the art:

Sans: 26
Papyrus: 6

Some headcannon image here. I know the picture is just a babybones cute thing, but in my headcannon, Sans was Dr. WD Gaster's assistent. And no, Gaster is not Sans and Papyrus' father. I mean, I like the idea a lot, I love Dadster comics, and stuff... Even handplates is my favorite AU, and I love mercyplates and stuff... But my headcannon don't works like that.

It's explicit that Sans is connected with Gaster, I mean, A LOT. But all leads to a work relationship, someting connected with determination studies and timelines. But Papyrus has any connection with Gaster at all, and if he was his father, would be a lot things giving us clues, don't you think?

So, I think Gaster was Sans' boss. He was the Royal Scientist, and was surrounded by the bests scientists of the Underground. And Sans was one of the bests. So I like to imagine that they were frinds, at some level. Not real close ones, but they had mutual deply respect for each other.

Sans loved to annoy Gaster, telling jokes, puns, and making him embarrassed, cause Gaster was a very serious and professional man. And because old habits don't die, he does the same thing with Papyrus in the future. Well, he does it with Frisk too in the cannon game, if you explore the game enough. I think he is just beeing Sans.

About the picture scenario: Gaster has 2 supreme rules in his lab: "NO CHILDREN AND NO PETS". Why? You ask. Well, both Children and Pets are loud, messy and distracts the employees for beeing cute. But Sans had a problem with Papyrus' school, and had to pick him up earlier, having no one to watch over his little brother all the sudden. So, he gave Gaster 3 options:

1 - Give him the day off;
2 - Letting him take Papyrus to the Lab;
3 - Fire him. Cause he doesn't care to get another jobs. Sans is crazy, and Gaster knew it. Aaaand Asgore forbitted Gaster to fire people for having children or for having to take care of them.

And Gaster really needed Sans that day, and FOREVER, so... He choosed option 2. With the condition that Sans would make Papyrus beeing silent and don't toching anything. Didn't really work out that way, but was close. Papyrus was a very curious child that loves to make questions, but he was also very obeying with Sans.

I don't know how to I will draw Gaster yet, that's why he is not in the picture.

Any tips about the art, please let me know.

Undertale, Sans and Papyrus belongs to Toby Fox

Aww, I really like the idea of this! Baby Pap is one of my weaknesses, whenever he appears I can't help but make weird sounding noises which sounds a lot like awww. Just love how Sans holds him in his arms and the conversation in the description explains so much about the scene. I like that you added the vending machine in the background, because it's clear now that they're in the true lab. Nicely done! Keep it up! ♥

Oh, Thank you so much. Coments like that just makes my day

Yeah, baby bones Paps are my weakness too, I was worried about how I could make him looking cute.

I like the idea of Sans raising him  , cause it's implicit in the game that Papyrus is a teenager, not an adult. Specially when Undyne asks him how they paid for that house and Papyrus says that is Sans who does that. If we look closer, makes sense that Sans has so many jobs, Undyne says that house "must cost a fortune". Also, if you observe closer, Sans renouces a lot of himself to give his young brother a good life. When we look Papyrus room, we can see the luxe things he have, instead, when we look Sans' room, he barely have a bed.

It's cannon that Sans is older, but we don't know how older he is, neither about their parents, and what happened to them. Some people has a headcannon that Gaster was their father to put pieces together, I like the idea, but don't agree with it.

I'm glad you liked the complement of the scene with the description dialogue. Maybe I do a comic about it, I'm just waiting until I get a tablet, cause, you know, It's comlicated making everything in the paper.

Good thing you feel that way, too! Papyrus is pure gold~

Wow, you actually mentioned a few things I haven't thought about before. I always interpreted Sans's room in a way that it does mirror his being, showing how empty he is inside. He has no personal stuff. The one thing he has is a letter from Papyrus. He said in the game that he gave up and that he would never see them again, knowing that a picture of him and other people exist - a photograph he hides in a secret room and doesn't want anyone to know about - made me think that he also gave up on the things he liked. Papyrus mentions in the game that it was odd that we, the player, did not know that Sans was into sci-fi, although there is absolutely no hints about anything for Sans. He remains a secret until the end and you must be willing to explore and search for information to understand him. Since I thought that he simply has no belongings as he has no interests anymore, it never occured to me that he simply has not enough money.

Now it also explains why he has so many debts at Grillby's place and why Grillby never asks for the money back. He surely knows about his circumstances!

Thanks for pointing this out. I don't know all the secrets of the game yet. KH3 is out and well let's say I still have several games ahaed of me that I also want to play. If you got any videos/source material to those things I would happily accept them.

And yes, I don't agree with Gaster being their dad either. Do you know Twister Father AU? That's more the kind of direction I would see him. The crazy scientist who is willing to sacrifice everything just to see his point proven, someone who is so brilliant at the things he does but lacks the ability to show empathy and is troubled by other people. Someone who is able to analyze difficult problems and understands the nature of the world, but simply can't get behind the secret of human emotion.

Hey, you're getting a tablet? That's awesome! Digital drawing is much easier and saves a lot of time. You'll do great!

Well, I will desagree a little with you about something: about this thing that Sans beeing depressing and empty inside. I think this is one of those things that Fandom assumed beeing true, but is not (at least in my headcannon, you can desagree if you want, of course XD). Like Papyrus hating jokes. He LOVES jokes and puns. He just hate Sans's jokes and puns for some reason XD.

For me, Sans is the last person in the game that would have depression. Why I think that? Well, people use some arguments that for me is of context. Sans talks about giving up of everything in genocide route. What I understood is that in the ecxacly moment, he notice that the "human" will never change. He is very aware about our power of determination, he gives clues of that, like in MTT resort dinner and in the judment hall, when he gives us the key. And when we reset, don't you think that all "deja vu" moments mean something? He has, and Papyrus too, they talks about it in the game. So, in reset timelines and most chaotical ones he knows that will be a reset. So, why giving his all, if is pointless? I think any monster would be desperate beeing aware of that.

But talking about pacifist route and some neutral ones, Sans don't give sinals of depression. None of those means anything. Undertale talks about depression, mostly associate with suicide. There sinals that Chara had depression and suicidal behaviour. Alriel said that they did go to Mount Ebbot for "not happy reasons", so we can understand that they was trying to commited suicide. And then, wanting to save monsterking, they didn't hesitade on poising themselves for that. Really heavy... Flowey himself, for example, he can be see as a metaphor for depression

- Souless;
-Empty insine;
- Doesn't feel anything...
- Lonely...

I saw some discarted sprites of the game, and has one called "Toriel's suicide". What could mean that Toriel could have depression. What makes sense, beeing alone for so long time. Trapted in the Ruins.

You can find the sprites here:

tcrf.net/Undertale/Unused_Grap…

And what about ALPHYS, man. She has clearly depression and suicide thoughs. All those things with the Amalgamates massed up her head. She is insecure, put herself down all the time. In mostly neutral endings she "desapeers". Papyrus says that Undyne went crazy looking for her. It could mean that Alphys killed herself and turned into dust. In pacifist route, Papurys calls Frisk to warn them that Alphys needs help,

"She wasn't feeling very well, so I told her to went home. I have the feeling that she shouldn't be anone, you know? Could you go check on her?"

So, Toby Fox used a lot of characters to show depression. And I didn't saw any of that in Sans. He is active, social. I mean, everyone in Undergroud knows Sans, and everyone likes him a lot. And about his hobbies, we found things that he likes, he just don't tells anyone, just Papyrus knows. When we go their home, we found a lot of Joke books inside quantum physics ones. So he likes to read, study, and maybe associate things. He also like astronomy, ans that telescope is Sans' for what I understood.

And even i chaotical timelines, he moves on, even with Papyrus' death. In most of them, he goes living with Toriel. In those cases, he can have depression, but he is fine enough to move on. He is a very brave man, I like him. That's why I never did ginocide hehe.

Man, about this history that he haves debts in Grillby's where this is come from? I never saw this is the game. He just have a tab, but... Doesn't mean he doesn't pay it. I though was just like my mom's tab in the drugstore, but she pays monthly. XD

Yeah, UNDERTALE has a lot of details hide. I understand hehe. I like exploring and I don't play much games, you know? hahaha. Most of the sources was me paying or in brasilian videos, but if you don't understand portuguese, I don't know if will worth me givins to you =/ But of course, everything I found I will gie to you

OH YEAH, I know Twisted Father. Thae Gaster got me more mad then Handplates one, and I never though that was possible XD.

I see Gaster this way you described too. We have similar headcannons in that. I mean, we don't have many sources about if Gaster is good or bad, but for what I saw in Undertale and Deltarune, he seems like a Megalomanic Scientist. Specialy when Sans said at genocide route "I know you tipe. You're prety determined. Will never give up, even if has no benefit on it" I think he means we maybe remembers him of someone, and this someone could be Gaster easily.

Oh, Geez, I talked too much. Don't mind me, I'm a little crazy. hehe.

Oh, sorry if I was kind of Jerk, I just notice now that maybe have sounded like that, wasn't my intention. I just like to talk a lot, and sometimes sounds that I don't like the ideas that I don't agree with.
