I love how even though this a drawing to glorify the awesomeness of the Orks, and as such dominating the drawing, the space marines are shooting and hurting the Orks, they are Β in a loosing fight, but they are in a fight where they still have a presence, and are not just getting slaughtered.
I am offended how most 40k book covers are presented are with the space marines in the focus, and whatever is placed as their opponent is there only to be utterly destroy and humiliatedΒ

well man, honestly, those books are there to sell the models they represent. You'll see and read about Nids killing everything because the person reading the book is a Nid fan and wants to buy Nid models. Its just the way it is! But I make sure to have orks losing while they win, its important.
of course I also draw some over the top "ork ontop of a pile of 20 dead marines lol" pics myself!

Yeah but I am talking about the novels and stuff, not the codexes. there are both victories and losses in the codexes for the army, while the books are just a slaughterfest

lol i love how the one space marine has this tiny ass kinfe thinking 'i bet i could stab that ork in the eye or something' then the boss just cuts off his arm, I love the orks so much, because at the age 1 u can kill the "angels of death'.

I know, the standard space marine knife is silly compared to their Epic Rocket Firing Bolter and Chainsword Blessed with the Souls of the Innocent. But I guess someone has to cut open a can of beans with something!

I've always wondered, if ork powers stem from mass ork belief in something, if a single warrior manages to amaze large amounts of orks with their battle prowess, would their belief that the warrior is amazingly strong make him more powerful?

I think so, but not on a very grand scale. Think about it, if you play sports with all your friends, and you're out performing them, you'll feel more confident and that might bring your game to another level because you're not thinking about it too much. In that sense I think it works, but a bit stronger. Also the idea that they have thousands of orks following them will stimulate hormones that make them larger, stronger, faster and possibly even more kunnin' (but that might have to be learned, the hard way).

I think its a built in code in ork personalities to discredit such epic ability and think "well a bit of a knife in there somewhere will still get the job done". Also, I don't think the ork gestaltic field will influence anything above and beyond the example I gave! But I'm a bit conservative with my orks.
