I was just wondering what you used as the base for your hip wings? As I'm trying to figure out what would be best to attach the feathers to?
I was thinking of making a frame from copper tubing or thick wire and then making a chicken wire cover for the wings to be attached to but I'm not sure if this would work in practice, if any of this makes sense XD

I am deeply sorry. You asked me a year ago. ><" Okay better late than never. :S
All of the fake feathers were made out of craftfoam. I like this stuff because it can be shaped under heat. First of all I cut the feathers and then I held them above a toaster. Finally they were glued together and I reached a wing form.

Oh and I didn't use any base or something to my wings. Their shape was fine after gluing.
