Darkness follows meIt dances at my side
Smiles when I am broken
Gets angry when I cry
Hates the Light I beg for
Kills the dreams I chase
Sings tales of horror
Watches me in disgrace
Shows pride when I am hurt
Drinks the blood I dearly need
Clings to my depression
It's a deadly thing
Darkness is a thief
It steals everything I own
It has no love for romance
It has a heart for no one
Why do we follow Darkness
When the Light gives so much more
Why do we wish to bleed
When our hearts could be pure
I will never understand it
How we crave the demons each day
Surely there's a reason
That their Light has not passed by
I met Light a long time ago
Light showed me the way
Despite the hissing of Darkness
The Light found a wayΒ
Light showed me that
Darkness is no harder to escape
Than an open cage
