Sometimes by getting help from their other friends.

Other times Kanzashi has to use her water magic to help wash away what has them trapped.

There is another method they use too involving Restia and her nature as a contracted spirit. If you have ever read the Seirei Tsukai no Blade Dance novel or watched the anime spirits can be manifested in the form of a weapon.

It just depends on what they are trapped in, and if it is just them or the others too
