Description This started off as just a doodle in my sketch book. I'd downloaded the poser knock-off program, DAZ, (which I highly recommend downloading) to help me with my anatomy drawing and this way the first pose I took a shot at. After I’d finished I thought it was nice enough that I'd try playing around with it in Photoshop. Most of it was done with just an airbrush and the doge/burn tool. I remember once being told or reading somewhere that you should avoid using the doge/burn tool as it tends to make your art look over-processed but I think that in moderation the tools come in real handy if you wanna do something quick. I think this one only took me about an hour to finish.

I didn’t want it to be fussy. I liked the sort of wallpaper quality of the white background so I left it as it was and cropped it to give it a little more visual interest.

This is one of the few characters I sometimes draw that doesn’t have to do with mine and my co-creator’s main body of work. Instead it’s sort of a mini project we plan on doing first just to get our feet wet in the comic world. It’s basically just a retelling of the little mermaid set in ancient Babylon and Tarush here is the main character.

I agree, the dodge/burn tool is very useful in moderation. I Love how you did her dress, it's very pretty and the light is really neat how it's soft but still.. bright? >.> Uh. Yeah! <3
