well he shapeshifted...he wasn't COMPLETELY human, but his male human form had red hair XDDD
Why would it bug him? And besides he's stroked it before. It even made beard-scratching sounds XDDD maybe it's his eyebrows that aren't on fire...they seem to respond to his emotions (sputtering out when he shits bricks and not going out when he's underwater)
