Hey Sean,
Thanks!
Are you just getting started drawing comics? I know exactly where you are if that's the case, and it can be a daunting prospect.
The best advice I can give is to just draw lots of comics. I know that sounds like a really lazy lesson, but it's so true. I feel like in comics you improve so much over each story or strip you write, you start to see where you could have solved problems and dialogue a lot better, and tighten things up, and skill.
But, in general, best thing to do is write our your plans or story, then start to try and break down what you'd like to see on each page, if you have a page number to work with, that's great, try and set yourself one if not.
You can start writing in dialogue you'd like to be read on your 'script' pages, and actions, etc.
The next bit is pretty tough, building up pages in pencil sketches, because you just have a big white sheet in front of you.
The best thing to do is to just tackle it, and try to draw out a small thumbnail comic page as you'd like to see it, or how you'd think things would flow well.
If I'm happy with a sketchy thumbnail page, I'll sketch it up into a more solid pencil page, and then I'll lightbox it and ink a final.
It just takes practice, and you'll get more confident and even get quicker at producing comics.
Yeah! Johnny Ryan is amazing. I love how Prison Pit is more refined in it's drawing then his other work, you can really see his manga influences creep in.
I tried to get a vinyl toy of Cannibal Fuck Face, but they sold out really quickly
