Siganture/Finishing moves from left to right

-Hells Bells: choke submission using feet
-Anuplex: off the top ropes, flying reverse somersault suplex
-The Wizard: totally impossible to describe
-Black Out the Sun or Ciccadah Raidah: off the top ropes, 360 spin to flying choke slam
-Slice of Life: throat chop to spinning leg take down

awesome other worldly wrestlers^^

Do some of these glow in the dark? That would be killer.

Yeah, but not these ones.
I made a radioactive dead astronaut, 'the glowing skull' and a few others.
The spray can was really hard to clean though, so I couldn't get that many made. It just blocked and went crusty.

Wait, you spray painted them in glow in the dark paint? I've experimented with luminescent materials before and it's a bit of a pain in the butt. My favorite so far has been that nasty puffy paint stuff. I mixed it with acrylic paint; I'm sure clear acrylic would work really well, but I used a really opaque white.

Yeah, you get a nice even coat then.
I hate those little expensive tubes of GITD paint, it has a chalky finish, and most of the time i have to mix it with a light colour and it still looks cheap and tacky.
It's a slow burning hobby that I always do in the background of other work that's slowly evolving. I really need to make custom casts next.

I'll try and find some photos of a snakeman I did, he had a tattoo of his own face on his chest.

I need to get some more figures, I've had a request for a Bat too. I'd love to make a lizard man.

what figures do you use for the base?

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Teagle In reply to Papposilenos [2011-10-13 17:07:11 +0000 UTC]

Those knock off wrestlers and MOTU toys you can get from discount shops.
I use them because there isn't too much articulation, joints are hard to paint.
If I can find a good sturdy WWF figure, I'll use that too.

I use milliput for the head, it's a little like sculpey, but air dries and is very tough.

Ah, gotcha! Yeah you couldn't use sculptey because I imagine cooking a figurine in the oven would melt the plastic. And the joint thing makes total sense. Really cool concept though! Anything in particular that sparked the initial idea?

Thanks! Yeah, I stumbled across miliput after using 'green stuff'.
It all started when I had a load of spare MOTU toy parts, and made hybrid action figures.
The weird muscley figures where what inspired me to start drawing wrestlers too.

I still feel guilty when some people think I made them from scratch. I need to make some of my own sculpts up one day.

Ah! green stuff, I'm aware of that. Isn't that what they use for those little Citadel models, like Warhammer and stuff to make conversions and things?

I know the guilt thing too, I used to make stuff out of colored sculptey and people would compliment me on how even and steady my painting was... and I had to be like... umm, yeah I didn't paint it. Not the best feeling in the world.

Teagle In reply to Papposilenos [2011-10-14 21:10:58 +0000 UTC]

yeah, that's the stuff!
Milliput is an alternative used by a lot of desktop game players, because Games Workshop is such a ripoff.
