Cinderpaw let her leg drop and lay still for a moment; then she pushed herself up. Fireheart watched her quietly as she shook her head. "I'm never going to be a warrior, am I?"
Fireheart couldn't lie to her. "No," he whispered. "I'm so sorry."
"I knew it, really," she meowed. "It's just that sometimes I dream about being in the forest, hunting with Brackenpaw, and then I wake up and the pain in my leg reminds me I'll never hunt again..."

This is an older piece that I never realized I hadn't submitted.

As you might be able to tell, it is the scene where Fireheart tells Cinderpaw that she is never going to be a warrior. I think that what she says back to him is really quite sad. It's amazing she's able to be so optimistic afterwards.

Anywho, I think the background is fairly decent, so I decided it was worth submitting.
