I’m trying to be more authentically myself within my artwork, and I think I got closer to that sacred space than I usually do. I got into the flow while drawing her, which I absolutely cherish. I started with a solid teal-colored background and worked my way up from there. The character seems like she’s about to share a secret; a little nervous and a little hopeful. For her shirt, I thought it would be cool if it was made of silk cobwebs, or something along those lines. Then, I gave her ear-fins which is a relatively mermaid-like trait. Then I thought it would be cool if she was a mermaid who could create silk! (Kind of like the silkwings from Wings of Fire, if any of you have read that) So now, the silk-maid exists XD
