Description This is the painted version of the Rocky maquette for Lackadaisy.

I will post a few more angles on the maquette to give a 360Β° view soon.

Damon Bard sculpted and painted this piece, and Tracy Butler created Rocky and designed the pose.

You can find Damon and his incredible compilation of professional work HERE .

Hope you don't mind me asking, but how much did Damon charge you for this? I was hoping to commission him for something similar.

Actually, that information is kept strictly NDA. However you may contact Damon himself and propose your project. He can be found at:

Just keep in mind, he is just about as professional as they come (you will see his work history on his site), so only contact him with really serious proposals.

I hope that helps!

Sincerely,

Eric

Such superb and amazing detail. OAO I love how shiny the tie looks. And the sculpture itself is amazing! Kudos!

I would really want to hold one in my hands. I can imagine him moving around already since you did the folds of the pants really well.

awesome sauce. Didn't come out as I expected. I thought it was going to be like Fantastic Mr. Fox, with all the fur, but in retrospect I suppose that would be horrific. This is still crazy amazing.

Wow, love the finished product.
I was expecting more *oomph*, however. More detail lik wood grain and such.
Oh well, it's nice anyway.

Thanks!

Hmm... wood grain? I apologize, but I am not sure what you mean. I am interested to know. (^_^)

Well, wood grain is the pattern that wood makes. You know, the whispy lines on an oak coffee table and such. I would've liked to see some more detail.

Oh, but do tell Damon he did a fantastic job

Holy shit give.

Nice detail. Not a fan on the mouth, however.

Glad you like it! I put up some more images, if that is what you meant by "give". If you meant that you want one, just keep checking back for updates. (^_^)

Not sure about the mouth. I like it. Is it the simplified teeth that just aren’t doing it for you?

Naphhy In reply to Team4D [2009-11-29 07:56:54 +0000 UTC]

Usually in here art the mouth is rather more toothy, yes. But then again, I haven't liked the look of Rocky when he is in colour. Some how the black and white makes him a little more characteristic.

Team4D In reply to Naphhy [2009-11-29 08:18:32 +0000 UTC]

Gotcha. You can blame me. I am the one who decided to simplify the teeth. I just was not sure it would translate well as a sculpt.
