Description Popcorn and Clanker are at the library, where they find a special book... A special book Popcorn destroys as if wanting to destroy any trace of his Joltik-ness... But on a brighter note, I think it's cute having Clanker resting on Popcorn's head!

There's stories concerning Popcorn's life. One detailing his journey from his island to the mainland (and his teammates) , and the second (unfinished) story detailing his life on the island from birth .

There's also stories for Popcorn on StarSlug 's page (since Popcorn is part of a collab with her team) and she posted our shared story of Popcorn's meeting with his team mates and their adventures , as well as a (Totally awesome!) Halloween-themed episode with Galvantula-Popcorn . She also has Popcorn in her some of her other stories, so you can also check out her page for more Popcorn-ness

"On Monday, the Very Hungry Galvantula ate through the chest cavity of one Screaming Rattata, but he was still hungry. On Tuesday, he devoured the face and extremities of a Pikachu, but he was still hungry. On Wednesday, he ate through half of a Struggling Buneary before his house-mates came home unexpectedly early and started crying "Why do you do this!? Why do you keep doing this to us!?". But he was still hungry. On Thursday, he munched through a litter of Skittys whilst their paralyzed mother watched, but he was still hungry. On Friday, he tried a slice of cheesecake. It was so-so."

On a serious note though, poor Popcorn. Does he hate reminders of his time as a Joltik because, deep down, he knows he lost an innocent and happier existence, and that his new survival of the fittest mindset is only making himself and others miserable? Or because he hates to remember how "weak" he was back then? ...Or does he just cringe at all the adorable stuff he did back then, like a teenager when their parents bring out the "adorable" baby-album for guests?

Clanker does look so dang cute riding Popcorn, peeking through all his head-floof. Β Poor Popcorn, paying back all the lifts he had as a Joltik...

"This short story seems simple on the surface, but is in fact a beautiful piece of art that questions the very essence of life's happiness. I felt deeply for the title character's struggles to feed his inner savagery, never satisfied with what he's given and wanting more. He steps out of his comfort zone to try a small taste of the normal life lived by civilized Pokemon, no doubt symbolized by the cheesecake, and finds that that too is rather unsatisfactory. Clearly, this brings many of life's questions to light and I whole-heartedly encourage children to read this insightful tale!"
-A HIGHLY reputable critic

Well, if you ask him, he'll claim that it's because he hates weakness and his Joltik self is weak. And for the most part, that's his active motivator in actions such as this. But yeah, deep inside, I think he does feel miserable with what he is now. As a Joltik, he was able to fit right in with Andalusst customs easily, and was certainly happy and innocent with the time spent in civilization. As a Galvantula, his new instincts are ill-suited here and he's obviously having a harder time adapting to a civilized culture with a feral mindset tailor-made to help him survive in an unforgiving secluded island. In order to fit in to Andalusst society and reap the benefits, he has to actively ignore instincts, leading to much more frustration. Acting on those instincts full-time would obviously be a bad idea... He tries to find a middle ground and indulges in his savagery when he thinks he can get away with it, but it really only adds to his bitterness.

He can return to the island, where his ideals are obviously gonna be accepted amongst his own kind and he no longer has to frustrate himself by denying who he really is. But he has no wish to return to the island forever, as living there will drastically decrease his chances of, y'know, living. I can see him being jealous and hating his Joltik memories, knowing such content happiness will never truly be felt again...

She is so cute, nuzzling into the floof! Popcorn's begrudgingly getting used to it.... kinda.... Which is good, especially when it gets cold out; there's plenty of warm, soft Galvantula to go around!! At your own risk of course! Β

Quick question; is Popcorn bitter from his upbringing or by just evolving?

Popcorn's bitterness is spawned mostly through evolution and the difficulty it brings in living in civilized society given that he's now a savage, bloodthirsty spider. He's also bitter of the happiness he once felt as a Joltik, knowing that it's something he's lost forever.
