Description Geof Darrow inspired rendition of a scene from the new Astroboy cartoon...

The backgrounds really shodily drawn, a case of quantity over quality...

The Kanji in Neon either says 'Mighty Atom' or 'i bet you think this DVD will have english subtitles, dont you foreigner'...

looks weightless. Nice one with that. He seems to be flying. And accelerating towards the ground. at the same time

indeed I did. I am a gaijin, after all.

if it makes you feel any better, you can't find the subtitles menu sometimes. Even though japanese dvds have english on them, sometimes they don't have any.

Its quite fun to make up the storyline sometimes though, its just the little things like, 'why the fuck is Atom glowing'...

On a vaguely related note try watching the Warriors in german, thats fun...

Except Evangelion which i actually prefer dubbed, perhaps its my inability to take someone speaking German in a Japanese accent...

lol! true true. You just want to cut off your ears. And shinji sounds even worse, if you can believe it.

the composition is great...(as my art teacher would say, "your eyes should move around the picture" and that's what my eyes does) Also I love the clean coloring and lineart. I've wanted to watch the remake of Astroboy..but somehow none of the local station is airing it...

Thanks, composition wise i was a bit dubious about the blank space to the left, i wasnt happy with the lineart on the background, i inked it on tracing paper (cause theres no way i was going to draw it all out again) but thats no excuse...

I missed most of the English translations when they were shown on TV, sadly...

heh - brillo pads - I'd have added some kind of streaky blurry plummety effect to excentuate the sense that he's actually fallying, as opposed to floating - but then again I do hoar out the blurry effects quite a bit, so what do I know

streaky blurry plummety effects, which filter is that under...

you still havent told me where the makes picture look perfect button is in photoshop...

ll In reply to TeamSmithy [2004-08-22 10:12:12 +0000 UTC]

"makes picture look perfect" filter is located in the same sub folder as "Don't you think you've used enough filters now?" and "Oh dear, you've overcooked it again haven't you?" filters

streaky blurry plummety effects can be found by doing clever things in the blur menue on PS
