Description
This was my last day with my Grandma Jean, on February 26th, 2012.
It was taken, when I went to visit my family in Tucson, Arizona recently- a main reason for that trip being to see my Grandma as she was not well...

... not even quite a month later, on March 22nd, 2012, she passed away.
[ June 23rd, 1919 - March 22, 2012; almost 93]

I am returning to Tucson, Az, again in just a couple days, to help with family, and with the eulogy.

It is true, that I am very grateful that I took the recent trip when I did, because on that last day, she was remembering me, participating in conversation, remembering vacations we took, and I said the things I wanted to say, and so that last day together was a gift to me.

Though, she was elderly, and I knew she was not doing well, it still surprised me, she passed away so soon after I saw her.

My Grandma and I were especially close, throughout my whole life. She was a major foundation and influence to me. She visited often, despite distance, traveled with our family, and she and I even traveled, just the two of us.

She was an artist of pencils, charcoal, and oil paints, as well as a published author of short stories and many poems to various magazines and world wide editors. She was extremely musical, and loved dancing, singing, and had perfect pitch when it came to playing the piano and organ.

She loved nature, and especially animals and always contributed to many animal organizations. She became an RN, but besides nursing she was many things to many people.

Grandma Jean loved life, and lived it colourfully, with a unique way of keeping her spirits up, even during the challenging times.

We will miss her, but we will love her forever.
