Thank you! I suppose we should force ourselves to draw hands more often, right? (but i still find myself discarding otherwise perfect reference photos because of them. Gah!)

Whoah. Great picture! That is a pretty, pretty man. His eyes are perfect, very compelling. You conveyed his facial skin texture especially well, especially the stubble, and the cheeks. And yeah, the hand looks pretty well done. What doesn't kill you makes you stronger, you know. I've always found that head shots with hands tend to be more interesting that without them. Draw some more!

You're right - i've seen some great headshots with hands, and i tend to avoid them because there's nothing worse than getting the eyes and face to where you're really happy with them, and then ending up with hands like the Crypt Keeper. (Yeah, i know - practice, practice, practice. Gah!)

Hands really are a bitch. I don't much enjoy drawing them myself, I can sure relate. But better pieces happen when I grit my teeth and draw 'em anyway. Sigh.
