Description Been quiet for awhile, so...just a wake-up piece.

-----------------------------------------------------

All peoples are prone to the "space sickness," even the long-lived, insectoid Drene. As they found themselves sojourning the long dark sleep of space, spirits nourished only by ancient memories of a lush, long-abandoned planet, they gazed with reverence at this first of luminaries upon their exodus.

"Bromeliad," they named it - the rough translation (and surprisingly similar extraterrestrial counterpart) of a long-forgotten flower which once flourished at their planet's north and south magnetic pole. For the spectrum of light and color which they comprehend is far beyond description in terms of of human sight, and such a salve it was to their multifaceted vision after the long dark cold of space.

You're welcome. If the work doesn't appeal to me I won't say anything, but overall your work is interesting and beautiful.

Nice colours. The star scape looks a bit blurry though.

Thanks.

Yeah, I wasn't too happy with the starscape in this one either. To get the bright/large stars I think I scaled up one of the star layers too much, which is why some of the stars probably look squarish.

Also one of the difference layers seem to be throwing off the tones. Should have remade the stars entirely.

Thank you for the feedback, I really do appreciate it everytime you stop by! Poke holes all you like, it lets me know how to improve.

You're welcome, you're improving by the piece, and it's only fun to give some pointers and advice - critique on my work is one of the major contributors to my artistic growth.

Try making your own star brush for mid- big sized stars, it's easy and the result can be great. I'm sure there's a couple of tutorials for it here on dA.
