I guess I can't find enough words to tell you how beautiful this shot is.
It's just amazing. It's totally simple in one way yet it tells so many stories. I can't get my eyes off...

Really great work!

thank you so much for the comment, and yes, i think someone finally noticed the main idea behind that picture, a painting on a wall, a painting is like a window, a window

thank you!

i wished it was a photochopped image so that i dn't have to envy your creativity!

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

technoghost In reply to chouk [2006-09-14 18:16:39 +0000 UTC]

its not really creativity since its a picture, now if it was a photochop, i'd say it would have been more creative... i just got lucky... well erh, not really, i just knew it was there.

forget all this tilting and sharpening malarkey. just get a friend to take the shot again, and this time, you peek your head up from the other side of the window. then it's perfect!

th3rdeye [2006-08-16 04:31:18 +0000 UTC]

wow, the textures and colours!!

only 2 things bug me. the sea seems oversharpened, and the horizon is a wee bit tilted

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

technoghost In reply to th3rdeye [2006-08-16 06:54:57 +0000 UTC]

the horizon is definitely not tilted, the tilt that you might see would be because of the waves breaking down on the reef, hence the uneven shape.

okay the sea oversharpened, well, i sharpened the picture following Notbland's advice, but i did a quick and dirty job, i'll work on it again once i get home.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

th3rdeye In reply to technoghost [2006-08-16 11:22:29 +0000 UTC]

it's definitely tilted when compared to the outside frame. it's not tilted compare d to the inside black frame

it needs to be rotated less than half a degree anticlockwise, i'm quite sure

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

technoghost In reply to th3rdeye [2006-08-16 12:29:01 +0000 UTC]

okay, the outer frame is a few centuries, wait, thousand of years old. the wall itself, is freestanding, and it's tilted... lol. not my fault.

notbland In reply to technoghost [2006-08-16 23:34:55 +0000 UTC]

Well I was strongly considering buying a WRX wagon when looking for a car last spring. That's Japanese, man. Then I was looking at a new GTI, and that's not exotic, though it is european. In the long run, I had to settle on a Dodge Durango cause it was $3k as opposed to the $15k+ I was looking at with everything else.
