Thanks to this awesome piece, it truns out you actually have an INDUCKS profile -- did you know that?

"Thanks for all adventures" was the first of my drawings to be posted on INDUCKS. And I'm very honored by that!

Aaros93 In reply to TedJohansson [2016-02-17 12:38:31 +0000 UTC]

No ! In the French-German documentary "DONALD DUCK - LE VILAIN PETIT CANARD EN NOUS / Das Donald-Duck-Prinzip" at 8min31 ! Don has showed it on his facebook page on 30/07/2014 !

What a surprise! Do you have the documentary recorded? I must have missed that post on Don's Facebook and now it can't be seen online anymore.

I don't think that would be so interesting to you... They don't talk about your drawing, there is just it during the narrator speaks. I think they choosed it because there are everyone from the "Life and Times of Scrooge McDuck"

Thanks to you I now have seen the part of the documentary where my drawing appears! THANK YOU very much for your help, Anthony!!! They must have chosen my drawing because they are talking about German donaldists and my drawing was printed on the cover of Der Donaldist 143. On that version of the drawing I placed "Der Donaldist 143" on the the cover and the spine of the scrapbook.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

TedJohansson In reply to RobmanCartoons [2013-01-18 10:33:46 +0000 UTC]

RobmanCartoons In reply to TedJohansson [2013-01-19 00:05:12 +0000 UTC]

TedJohansson In reply to RobmanCartoons [2013-01-21 14:22:57 +0000 UTC]

The Don Rosa stories were nice and everything but I hated how he hyped up Scrooge but always made Donald look like a fool! >

👍: 0 ⏩: 2

TedJohansson In reply to thepagansun [2013-01-17 10:22:51 +0000 UTC]

It´s hard. Donald is supposed to fail and to have bad luck but on the other hand he should win sometimes too. But if he is too lucky he won´t be the Donald we know. I personally think Carl Barks handled this balance perfect in his stories.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

thepagansun In reply to TedJohansson [2013-01-18 21:22:01 +0000 UTC]

Yeah, I guess. But too often it was him always losing and although a character always winning isn't fun, it's even worse when your favorite character is shown losing and made fun of. I mean I still liked the comics, but it was only for the times when Donald wins and the overall good story. Barks handled it slightly better than Rosa, most of whose stories had a losing Donald.

You should read the three Caballeros!

thepagansun In reply to brasman [2013-01-14 13:48:39 +0000 UTC]

I did! They were good, but even then...when Jose and Panchito kept praising him and he just kept getting hit with rotten luck. I mean, he always has his moments of awesome, but it's still way less than he deserves.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

brasman In reply to thepagansun [2013-01-14 17:12:36 +0000 UTC]

Well, okay if you feel that way. I somewhat get your point but if you compare Rosa's Donald to the of other artists (storytellers I guess) he's much more of a 'real person'. Sure he's got his bad points, but I certainly think Rosa likes Donald. Have you read The Duck Who Never Was?

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

thepagansun In reply to brasman [2013-01-15 17:33:28 +0000 UTC]

True...I mean, I still love his stories and plots and his Donald is certainly more human than the typical character at Disneyland, but I just wish he didn't overdo the "bad luck" and "short-end-of-the-stick" thing. Donald deserved better endings and rles than merely Scrooge's poor lackey. He was a great writer though...but yeah.

I did...and it made me sad. It was bittersweet.
